St. Barbara School is in the heart of Chicago.
Our school is located just south of the Stevenson Expressway between
Halsted and Ashland in the Bridgeport community.
We have nearly 200 students in preschool through eighth grade. Our
strong academic program and Catholic values provide a quality program in
a supportive and caring learning environment for our students.
Each classroom has Internet access and technology is infused into the
everyday curriculum. Students participate in a physical education and
music program. Extra-curricular activities include basketball,
football, volleyball, band, choir, cheerleading and student newspaper.
Our Terra Nova test scores are above the national average. Our strength
continues to be our outstanding math program. The graduates of 2007 will
be attending the following high schools: St. Ignatius, DeLaSalle, Mother
McAuley, Lane Tech and St. Joseph.
A $400,000 bequest has been given to the school for scholarships. This
year, each family will receive a scholarship from the bequest. Please
visit our website often to keep abreast of what is going on.
For more information about our program, please contact our school office

We are very excited about our website. I hope that you will visit it
often to find out the latest happenings at our school. Each teacher has
a web page that has information about that particular classroom. Teacher
web pages are updated monthly.
