ST. BARBARA WINS PB ENERGY GRANT

Thanks to our science teacher, Ms. Beth Polich, St. Barbara was recently notifed that we are the winners of a $5000 energy grant. The grant will be used to teach students and families how to conserve energy by using conservation friendly light bulbs. There were over 1300 entries from across the country. Only three Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of chicago were selected.

Due to Ms. Polich's departure from St. Barbara, math teacher, Monica Mison, will take over the implementation of the grant. Ms. Mison represented St. Barbara at the Museum of Science and Industry on June 21, 2007 to accept the award and grant money at a special awards dinner honoring all winning entries.
