ALUMNI NEWS

Since our new website format is taking shape, all old news has been deleted.  We are currently looking for alumni news.  Weddings, births, anniversaries, degrees, exciting vacations?  We will take the good news and share it with your friends.  E-mail all news with year of graduation as well as elementary or high school information to dhurckes@stbarbarachicago.org.

The first annual St. Barbara Golf Outing took place on September 17, 2007.  Organized by alumni, Joe Jasas, Tony Skokal, Ken Stempinski, John Jordan, Sarah Stec and special helpers, Gladys Kaminski and Sue Stempinski, it was a great success.  Out of 86 golfers, 22 were alumni!  Next year’s date is set for September 15, 2008 at Gleneagles Country Club.  Information will be sent and e-mailed to all alumni in our database.  Be there!

Alice (Wisniowicz) Gondek, Elem. School Class of 1968 is this year’s recipient of the Rev. Edward Skupien Distinguished Graduate Award.  Alice has served as the elementary school secretary for the past fourteen years.  Before being hired by the school, she contributed to the school and parish in many ways, including serving as a school board member and Ladies’ Guild corresponding and recording secretary.

Gladys Kaminski is this year’s recipient of the Sister Mary Grandys Award.  Gladys has been an active parishioner of St. Barbara for many years.  She helped with the old bazaar and currently works with the summer fest and October fest events.  She is a member of the Parish Finance Committee and works bingo every Thursday.  Gladys is an active member of many organizations.
