Saturday, July 17, 6:00-10:00 p.m. On Saturday from 6-10:00 p.m., our featured band is Stone Cold Derby (Rock of the 70s, 80s, 90s to present) Games for all ages from children to adults. Miniature Golf on our 9 hole course. Grilled Delights and Spirits On Sunday the fest continues with a outdoor Noon Mass
(with the Marimba Ensemble from Holy Cross Parish leading us in
prayerful song) Starting on Sunday at 1:00 p.m., Nino Folino will take stage
until 5:30, spinning and singing our all-time favorites. Then Mixed Nutz, with members from the CFD and CPD, on Sunday evening from 5:30 to 8:30 (mixing it up with Rock & Roll, R&B, Classic Rock, Motown, and Country) Kids World from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, with a $10 admission for all attractions, will feature a Petting Zoo, Jumping Jacks, Pony Rides, Face Painting and surprises as well as many games for all ages. *Canticum Novum Choir Christmas Concert Sunday, December 27, 2009, 12:30 p.m., after the 11:30 a.m. Mass Canticum Novum is pleased to present classic and contemporary music of the season at this beautiful, historic church. The choir will sing at the 11:30 a.m. Mass and present their concert immediately after Mass. The Choir has been performing together since 1999. Members of the choir have backgrounds in a variety of musical performance and musical teaching careers. Many have sung in community choirs and musical theater productions. Most share their time and talents with local churches and church choirs as well. The Choir’s director, Michael Carso, received his degree in pipe organ from Roosevelt University/Chicago Music College. For the past twenty-two years, he has been involved in music ministry within the Catholic Church in the Chicago area. Celebrate the Season with our favorite Choral Christmas selections. CD’s will be available for Purchase. Free Will Donations Accepted.

St. Barbara Elementary School is sponsoring
its third annual golf outing at Gleneagles Country Club in Lemont on
Saturday, October 3, 2009. The price for the day is $125 per golfer and
includes golf, cart, light lunch, beverages, dinner and windbreaker.

cost is $125 We are also looking for levels of sponsors. The Level 4 Hole sponsor is a great way to advertise your business, honor someone in a memorial, sponsor a “Class of” or perhaps your family would like to be a sponsor. For $100, each sponsor will be recognized with a placard at their particular hole. Dust off those clubs and join us for a day of fun, food and golf! *Fourth Annual Oktoberfest
Need a little oompah in your life, come join us! The brats and kraut will be cooking for you to enjoy along with German Potato Salad, and if that is not to your liking try some of our more traditional foods, sausage, burgers, hot dogs and a couple of surprises to go with that. We are planning a Family event starting with the little ones to enjoy the beginning of fall right on to our BEARS fans, watching the game. So you don’t want to miss it. We will have a DJ spinning the tunes. There will be Bean Bag Tossing, Volleyball, Frisbee Golf., and games of chance
* Bishop Gustavo Celebrates 25th Anniversary of Priesthood,
St. Barbara will host a special Mass on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at 6:15 p.m. to celebrate Bishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller’s 25th Anniversary of Priesthood. A reception will follow in the parish hall. All are invited. Bishop Gustavo was ordained a priest on June 22, 1984 and has been Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago since March 19, 2003. Bishop Gustavo oversees all 79 southwest side parishes in Vicariate V. Each Deanery of the Vicariate is hosting an anniversary liturgy. The 17 parishes of Deanery A (Bridgeport, Chinatown, Carnaryville, Back of the Yards, McKinely Park, and Brighton Park) have come together to plan this anniversary celebration, bringing together as one in the Lord the parish faithful from our many communities of faith.

We will have a DJ spinning the tunes.
