Obiturary: Philomene, passed away into eternal life early on
September 8, 2007 at the age of 91. Sister is survived by her three sisters,
Margaret (Iwanski) Lawrence, Mary Ann (Zakrzewski) Gilbert and Antonette (Hoppa)
Leo and the Sisters of St. Joseph Third Order of St. Francis with whom she
ministered as a teacher for almost 75 years. Sister's parents, Anton and
Agatha and her five brothers and sisters preceded her in death. She taught
in the Archdiocese of Chicago at the elementary and high school, schools of
her community and in Nebraska and Indiana. Services for Sister Evelyn will
be Tuesday, Sept. 11 at Immaculata Convent, Bartlett, IL beginning at 3:30
p.m. with a Mass followed by viewing of the body until 7 p.m., on Wednesday,
Sept. 12 at St. Barbara Church, 2859 S. Throop St. there will be visitation
at 9:30 followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. Sisters remains will be taken to the
St. Joseph Motherhouse for Thursday, Sept. 13. Visitation at 9 a.m. and Mass
of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. She will be buried in the Convent Cemetery in
Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Memorials may be sent to the SSJ-TOSF Development
Fund, C/O Immaculata Convent, Bartlett, IL. Services arranged by Countryside
